The official Octopus Business Consortium Launch took place at the Llyndir Hall Hotel in Rossett on Tuesday, 4th March 2008. Over 50 guests attended the event that was hosted by Mike Scott (Director of THE Group Ltd) and Richard Morris (Managing Director of MCW Group).
After informing the audience about the consortium, its set up and objectives going forward, two excellent presentations were delivered. Firstly, Rufus Carter, Director of the Patchwork Traditional Food Company spoke about how the organisation grew from it's humble 'kitchen table' beginnings in Llandegla, North Wales over 25 years ago, to becoming today, an extremely successful multi-national organisation, trading highly successfully all over the world.
Secondly, Sarah Jones eloquently informed everybody about the Ty gobiath project, which raises money and provides support for the families of terminally ill adolescents up to the age of Nineteen (Octopus's chosen charity).
After some informal but effective networking, a raffle was held to raise money for Ty Gobiath. Sarah Jones handed out prizes to the winners, kindly donated by some of the Octopus member organisations. Special thanks go out to Kate Edwards and Mandy Jones for organising the whole event.
Now that Octopus has officially 'gone live' expectations and awareness have been raised - it is now time to deliver and provide exceptional service to both the clients we have already gathered and the many new ones that will be secured in the future.
